The Opportunity:

The Edinburgh Reproductive Tissue Biobank (ERTBB) is looking for an experienced and dedicated Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the biobank, ensuring the efficient collection, processing, analysis, and storage of human tissue and blood samples. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of all sample data and laboratory procedures to comply with regulatory standards.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. 

Your skills and attributes for success: 

• A degree in a relevant biological science subject or HND/HNC in a relevant biological science subject and relevant experience in a technical role. 
• Experience of working in a diagnostic or research laboratory.
• Good organisational skills with attention to detail. Ability to organise, prioritise, and manage workload efficiently while being flexible and adaptable to changes in work schedule.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team.
