About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to manage & develop the Open Press University of Sussex (OPUS) service during a period of maternity cover.
OPUS is a Diamond Open Access press hosted in the Library, publishing an array of books, toolkits and Open Educational Resources that are openly available across the globe, expanding the reach & impact of Sussex research and modelling a sustainable and non-commercial mode of academic publishing.
As Editorial Manager, you’ll oversee the commission, submission, production & promotion of all titles, working with authors and colleagues across the Faculties and playing a key role in the development of the University’s strategic aims around Open Research.
You’ll work with the Research & Open Scholarship team in support of the academic community, situating the press and its work in the University’s thriving culture of progressive research.
About you
We are looking for someone with a keen interest in & experience of Open Access publishing, with the imagination and drive to develop a service that is dedicated to community-led scholarly communication.
With a demonstrable knowledge of the academic publishing landscape, and a skillset that includes the abilities to manage people, processes and deadlines, you’ll have excellent communication & organisational skills and a commitment to delivering an excellent service for our authors.
OPUS is part of a flourishing community of academic publishers who are daring to be different. If you value academic integrity, non-profit motives, and models of publishing that strive to be inclusive, please consider applying.
