The University is advertising a vacancy for the post of Head of the School of Law to recruit the successor to the current Head of School. Ideal for a Professor or Associate Professor with proven leadership abilities, your Professor role will be a permanent role, with the Head of School role fixed term for six years in the first instance.

The University is looking for applicants who are keen to develop their careers further by taking on an academic leadership and managerial role at an important time for the University. The role is an opportunity to build on the School's strategic developments in research, education, and global partnerships over the last five years, and develop and implement a future vision for the School. Environmental sustainability and leadership is a key part of the University of Reading's strategy, and we are interested in particular in candidates who can leverage the strengths of the School of Law in that regard. Responsible for providing the School’s academic leadership, the Head of School will also contribute to the broader leadership within the wider University.

Interviews to take place on Tuesday 1 July 2025. At interview, shortlisted candidates will be asked to make a presentation on their vision and strategy for the School to the Panel and this will be followed by a Panel Interview.
