This is an open ended subject to funding contract for 3 years.
This joint post between the Global School of Sustainability and the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment offers an exciting opportunity to support the Global Impact Group. The role focuses on conducting high-quality policy analysis and engagement to inform global decision-making on climate, energy, and sustainable development.
Launched in January 2025, the Global School will become a centre of expertise, informing policy, helping to rapidly and equitably create the economic growth, social inclusion and environmental protections crucial to ensuring a sustainable future, while convening global experts and training the future generation of leaders. It builds on and complements further the pathbreaking work of the Grantham Research Institute for Climate Change and the Environment and existing outstanding contributions from academic departments and researchers across LSE. The Global Impact Group draws in external expertise to support real world impact. It will partner with key international financial institutions, governments and private sector stakeholders to help drive investment and finance for a sustainable future.
The Policy Analyst will conduct data-driven research and policy analysis, working closely with the Global School of Sustainability and the Grantham Research Institute to support the Global Impact Group’s initiatives on climate, energy, and sustainable development. The role involves preparing high-quality reports, analysing large datasets, and engaging with key stakeholders to inform global policymaking and drive impactful discussions.
The successful candidate should have a master’s degree in finance, economics, climate science, climate policymaking, climate economics or a closely related field by the post start date. They will also have excellent economic analysis skills and experience of analysing large datasets. Knowledge and experience across a range of climate change-related disciplines, particularly climate change economics and policy. Experience of drafting reports and editing. Ability to communicate complex ideas and technical issues to a range of different non-technical audiences.
