Background
This role is designed to enhance the student experience at City St George’s by spearheading research and insight initiatives. The postholder will be responsible for coordinating and delivering membership research, analysing student feedback, and supporting Sabbatical Officers. They will lead the 'Student Check-In' project, develop pulse surveys to gauge student engagement, and ensure all research activities comply with GDPR regulations.
The position is part of the Voice and Insight Team at City St George’s Students' Union, focusing on representing and advocating for students through comprehensive data collection and analysis.
Responsibilities
The role involves leading the coordination, development, and execution of research and insight activities within the organisation. They will be responsible for gathering, analysing, and disseminating student feedback through comprehensive reports, policy papers, and by supporting Sabbatical Officers. Additionally, the role includes overseeing membership and data collection systems, organizing focus groups, and conducting secondary research to support campaigns and policy development. The postholder will play a crucial role in strategic and operational planning by providing valuable insights and recommendations to various Union departments.
Person Specification
Our ideal candidate will have relevant data and research experience, knowledge of issues affecting students in Higher Education, and familiarity with data protection legislation. They should have experience using CMS for data insight, successful project planning and management, and producing reports from collected data. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and Qualtrics, and excellent communication skills are essential. The candidate must work well under pressure, independently, and as part of a team, with a commitment to equality and race equity.
