This post, based in the Global School of Sustainability and working closely with the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, offers an exciting opportunity to support the Global Impact Group, chaired by Professor Lord Nicolas Stern. The role focuses on conducting high-quality policy analysis and engagement to inform global decision-making on climate, energy, and sustainable development.
Launched in January 2025, the Global School will become a centre of expertise, informing policy, helping to rapidly and equitably create the economic growth, social inclusion and environmental protections crucial to ensuring a sustainable future, while convening global experts and training the future generation of leaders. It builds on and complements further the pathbreaking work of the Grantham Research Institute for Climate Change and the Environment and existing outstanding contributions from academic departments and researchers across LSE. The Global Impact Group draws in external expertise to support real world impact. It will partner with key international financial institutions, governments and private sector stakeholders to help drive investment and finance for a sustainable future.
The Policy Fellow will conduct rigorous, policy-oriented analysis and engagement, collaborating with the Global School of Sustainability and the Grantham Research Institute to support the Global Impact Group’s strategic initiatives. The role involves producing high-quality research outputs, coordinating key events, and engaging with senior decision-makers to inform global policy on climate, energy, and sustainable development.
Candidates should have detailed knowledge and understanding of climate change, energy, economic and development policies, particularly in emerging market and developing countries. Experience in conducting user-oriented analysis and engaging with decision-makers in the public, private and third sectors. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in English with the ability to communicate technical issues to a non-technical audience with an ability to work with others at all levels of seniority.
We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave, hybrid working, and excellent training and development opportunities.
