Salary: Grade 7, £38,454 - £42,694 per annum.

Appointments will normally be made to the first point of the grade. If a part-time appointment is made, the postholder will receive a proportion of the full-time salary.

Founded in 1882, The Royal College of Music (RCM) is a world leading music conservatoire with a prestigious history and contemporary outlook. The College has held this world-leading place in Performing Arts for four successive years, while Music is a new subject introduced to the rankings in 2024.

To support the continued growth and strategic ambitions of the Royal College of Music, we are seeking to appoint an experienced and driven Philanthropy Manager (Trusts & Foundations) to join our dynamic Development & Alumni Engagement team.

We are looking for candidates with the following attributes:

  • You are a results-driven professional with a strong track record of securing five- to six-figure gifts from charitable trusts and foundations. Your ability to develop and manage high-value donor relationships sets you apart.
  • You bring strategic vision and practical expertise, with experience of working towards ambitious income targets and KPIs within a fundraising environment. You thrive in cultivating meaningful, long-term partnerships that align with institutional priorities.
  • You are an excellent communicator, confident in writing compelling funding proposals and stewardship reports tailored to diverse audiences. Your persuasive writing and interpersonal skills will enable you to connect with trustees and stakeholders across sectors.
  • You are organised and proactive, with a meticulous approach to prospect research, data management, and reporting. You understand the importance of using systems like Raiser’s Edge to support efficient and impactful fundraising.
  • You are passionate about the arts and education, with a genuine enthusiasm for supporting the RCM’s mission. Whether coordinating cross-departmental projects or attending RCM events, you will be an engaged and enthusiastic ambassador for the College.
