Health Sciences University is a specialist health sciences institution dedicated to excellent education, clinical care and applied research.
Following the merger with the University College of Osteopathy (on1st August 2024), the institution is in a phase of growth and transformation across our campuses in Bournemouth and central London and internationally.
Upcoming projects include a new finance system, transition to a new student records system and, possibly, launch of an oral health institute, as well as embedding the new Health Business School.
We are highly values-driven, inspired by our mission to ‘create a healthier society through education, research and clinical care’ with highly dedicated and capable staff and students working together within a caring and inclusive community. We are part-way through the delivery of our Strategic Plan 2021-2026, entitled Fit for the Future, which we will refresh in the coming weeks to reflect recent institutional changes.
HSU delivers a diverse and growing portfolio of pre- and post-registration academic provision and research in allied health and related disciplines, and substantial CQC-registered clinical and imaging services delivering high quality care for our staff, students and local communities.
We provide a vibrant and positive inter-professional learning and practice environment, within a caring and inclusive community.
About the role
Taking over from the current interim incumbent, the role of Programme Manager is pivotal in the development of HSU, as we seek to better professionalise our approach to managing both strategic and operational projects.
The Programme manager will play a key role in helping the University deliver high profile projects and programmes that change organisational structures, processes, technology and culture. In joining us, you would be bringing our future vision to life.
Key will be developing more robust structures around project management and training key stakeholders in project management skills.
Currently, this is primarily a ‘stand alone’ role, although the intention is to supplement the role with project managers for particular projects. In these instances, the project managers will report into the Programme Manager.
About the person
Educated to at least degree level or equivalent professional qualifications, with PRINCE2 Practitioner certification, successful candidates will have a track record of process optimisation and system implementation working closely in partnership with the business stakeholders.
Pro-active and with strong communication skills, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strategic approach to project management, whilst being happy to undertake significant elements of the work themselves.
An ability to work flexibility in ambiguous situations and support cross program work-streams will also be expected.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum & Nationality Act 2006.
