Full-time: 35 hours per week
Fixed-term: until 30 September 2029
The Opportunity:
The BHF Centre of Research Excellence in Edinburgh is funded by a five-year award from the British Heart Foundation to accelerate our science. By collaborating across disciplines and institutions, we will deliver bold discoveries and foster the next generation of research leaders. We now have a suite of new opportunities in our Centre, and are seeking people with the ideas and ambition to drive forward our work.
We seek a postdoctoral researcher to provide image analysis expertise and capability for a range of human and translational medical imaging modalities primarily in cardiovascular and neurological research studies, and to apply established analysis algorithms and develop improved or new algorithms including machine learning approaches to extract novel quantitative measures using tools such as MatLab or Python. The medical imaging modalities include structural and functional MRI, PET-CT, PET-MRI, total body PET, and CT including soon to be available photon-counting CT, of heart, brain, other organs and vasculature including atheromatous plaque. The fellow will work closely with clinicians, medical physicists, radiochemists, image analysts and acquisition staff and students in the Advanced Imaging Theme, linking with researchers in related Themes.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
The salary for this post is £40,497 - £48,149 per annum.
