Glasgow Caledonian – the largest and leading modern university in Scotland - is a vibrant, values-led university with campuses in the heart of Glasgow and London. With a strong commitment to high quality education and research which supports the communities we serve, we have strong partnerships with employers to ensure our students get the careers they dream of and deserve.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to be a Senior Officer within School Professional Services at GCU, working to support the Glasgow School for Business and Society. Working in conjunction with the Associate Academic Registrar and another Senior Officer, the role will directly lead a team of c12 staff, including programme co-ordinators and programme administrators. The role is ideal for an experienced administrator, and the successful candidate will benefit from significant, up to date experience of working in a HE setting, as you will be expected to liaise closely with students and other stakeholders both internal and external to the University.
Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential for the role, as well as the ability to provide expert guidance and advice to staff (academic and professional support) and students. Being agile to the needs of the team is particularly important, as well as the requirement to understand the systems, procedures and processes in place, both to help convey complex information, as well as identifying systems and process improvements.
The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in SPS and wider across the University Directorates in a collegiate manner, sharing best practice and lending support to others during periods of peak processing.
If you would like to discuss the role please contact David Moore, Senior Associate Academic Registrar, by emailing D.Moore@gcu.ac.uk.
Please note that the appointment will be made on the first point of the salary scale (unless by exception).
