Job description:
Working Pattern: Full time (35 hours)
Do you want to join our well-established Mental Health Service and work alongside our other Mental Health Practitioners? We have an exciting opportunity at Student Mental Health, Counselling Therapies and Wellbeing Service for an experienced mental health professional.
You will be clinically qualified and registered with experience in assessing mental health difficulties, including the assessment and management of risk. Also, able to deliver psychoeducation and follow-up sessions based on therapeutic approaches. The Mental Health Consultation is intended to support students in exploring a broad range of mental health and psychological support needs within a single appointment. Students are then expertly signposted/or referred to the most appropriate ongoing service.
Excellent organisational, and people skills are key. You will manage a caseload with the aim to see matters through to conclusion. Also integral to the post is triaging students' self-referral forms and providing advice on student mental health to other University staff via the Mental Health Guidance and Liaison Desk one day a week.
Student Mental Health, Counselling and Therapies Service is APPTS accredited service with an embedded research clinic. We are the link between the University and NHS Statutory Services. As such, you will work closely with other areas within Student Support Services and the NHS and other provision outside of the university.
We encourage all students and staff to the service, irrespective of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and parental leave, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation. We encourage candidates from unique background that allow our staff group to reflect the community that we serve and would particularly welcome applications from BAME candidates.
We are committed to exploring flexible working opportunities which benefit the individual and University.
We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching, and student experience.
