The School of Literatures, Languages & Cultures is looking for a Research Assistant in Gaelic Medium Education (GME) Speech Recognition to join us on a fixed term, part-time basis.
You will play a central role in the collection, transcription and management of speech data from Gaelic-speaking children, working closely with schools and local authorities across Scotland. This post offers a unique chance to directly impact language technology advancements and support educational access for Gaelic-speaking communities.
We welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates, particularly encouraging individuals with experience or background in Gaelic Medium Education, minority languages or linguistic research. We also particularly welcome applications from members of minority ethnic groups, who are currently under-represented in the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures.
This post is part-time (15.75 hours per week). We are open to considering flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
