About the role
We are looking for a talented administrator to join Imperial’s Department of Brain Sciences in a key role that provides support in the day-to-day management of the Department. The Department of Brain Sciences has a unique and internationally recognised portfolio of translational research in neuroscience and mental health. We comprise the pioneering Centre for Psychedelic Centre of Excellence and Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson's Tissue Bank, as well as leading the multidisciplinary UK Dementia Research Institute at Imperial and the UK DRI Care Research and Technology Centre at Imperial.
What you would be doing
As the Department Operations Assistant, you will provide day-to-day support to the Director of Operations in ensuring efficient administration of the Department with particular regard to HR, Finance and Research-related matters, as well as the involvement in organising events and ad hoc projects. You will manage contracts with third suppliers, act as a key contact for ICT related tasks, take minutes at meetings, and oversee coordination of induction and training. You will also be the first point of contact for updating our Department web pages, assist with the organisation of Department events, and play a key role in financial management of our accounts.
What we are looking for
You should have A-Level and GSCE qualifications in relevant subjects. A degree level education or equivalent is desirable but not essential. You should have experience of working in administration in a busy office environment and the ability to work with staff at all levels. You should be familiar with the Microsoft 365 suite of applications, have excellent written and communication skills, and the ability to manage your own work independently and as part of a team. You must be able to be flexible in working in a changing environment.
