We are putting inspirational learning and impactful research at the heart of this strategy, recognising our academic expertise as our greatest asset.
The school
Creative Writing, clustered within the School of Humanities, is an ambitious and growing academic unit. Our burgeoning national and international research profile, excellent teaching and learning, and welcoming and inclusive ethos supports an exceptional student experience (achieving 98% for Academic Support and 90% for Teaching on my Course in the most recent NSS). Our School offers a number of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from BA, MA, to MFA and PhD.
The role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Lecturer to contribute to our vibrant undergraduate and developing postgraduate offers in Creative Writing. This is a 12-month 1.0 Maternity Cover role. The successful candidate will also be supported in developing a solid research profile.
Key requirements
Candidates will have expertise in teaching an area of Creative Writing at undergraduate level. There may also be an opportunity to teach at postgraduate level as well. The successful candidate will be supported in cultivating an outstanding research profile in Creative Writing. Whilst we focus on areas including prose fiction, short fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction (to name a few), other research specialisms are welcome as we are keen to foster new connections.
You must have successful teaching experience of Creative Writing at postgraduate level. A ‘track record' of grant capture is desirable but not essential.
