Position

IQS School of Management (University Ramon Llull) is seeking to appoint a University Associate or Assistant level Professor in Innovation from September 2025.

The successful candidate is expected to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level depending on his or her particular field of expertise. Candidates must be able to show evidence of innovative research of international standing and demonstrate ability to play an effective and collegial role in the life and work of the School of Management. This is a search for a tenure-ladder position, with the academic rank to be determined according to the experience and productivity of the candidate.

The successful candidate will be joining a vibrant, collaborative and friendly environment within one of the most traditional research centers in Barcelona. Our School belongs to the selected group of AACSB accredited business schools in Spain. 

We encourage applications from different areas related to innovation. Some general research topics that are of particular interest are, in no particular order: (1) innovation management, (2) innovation and business strategy (3) digital and technological innovation (4) AI, big data and its impact in business strategies (5) sustainability and innovation (6) technologies and business models (7) entrepreneurship and social change, etc. In addition, candidates should have a very good knowledge of quantitative research, or qualitative methods, and empirical techniques, typically employed in his/her research fields.

The candidate is expected to develop his/her research in IQS School of Management Research Groups, having the opportunity to participate in its economic-industrial environment for business solutions (https://techtransfer.iqs.edu/en/solutions/business-consulting-and-advice/) and to engage with some of their facilities and infrastructures such as Neuro & Digital Marketing Lab at IQS School of Management (https://techtransfer.iqs.edu/en/solutions/neuro-digital-marketing-lab-iqs/) or the Finance Lab (https://iqs.edu/en/iqs/facilities/finance-laboratory/)

Requirements and selection process:

The selection process will take into account the candidate’s fulfilment of the following criteria: 

  • A doctorate in a relevant aspect of innovation management, strategic management or related fields (or strong evidence of completion of such a doctorate is imminent)
  • Evidence of high-quality publications or potential for forthcoming publications
  • Evidence of ability to engage in international collaborations
  • Evidence of interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Spanish is desirable
  • Experience of teaching at university level is desirable
