ECHO (Epidemiology of Cancer Healthcare and Outcomes) Research group.
Our research is aimed at improving the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and outcomes of cancer patient populations, and the understanding of the role of tumour, patient and health system factors in inequalities in cancer care and outcomes. The ECHO Group includes researchers with diverse backgrounds and the post holder will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with epidemiologists, statisticians, clinicians, and public health specialists. Our research projects are supported by competitively acquired funding by NIHR, Cancer Research UK, HDRUK and NCI, inter alia.
About the role
We are looking for a statistician with an interest in observational epidemiological research, including both large-scale descriptive epidemiology and causal inference. The role requires methodological expertise and an interest in applied quantitative research, including in developing the data science skills required for working with large-scale routine healthcare datasets. The post-holder will work with Dr Matt Barclay (senior research fellow, statistician) and with other senior and junior members within the ECHO Group, as well as with collaborators in UCL and other UK and international collaborators.
