Job description:
We have an exciting opportunity in the Division of Neuroscience for someone with a passion for clinical research into neurodegenerative disorders.
The role involves supporting a multi-centre study on a new MRI technique to study motor unit behaviour, led by Professor Roger Whittaker (Newcastle University). The clinical fellow will work with the local study team (lead: Dr James Alix) to recruit patients, undertake clinical assessments and arrange scanning with the academic radiology department. The successful candidate will work within the Division of Neuroscience, which undertakes world leading research into neurodegenerative diseases.
We are looking for highly motivated individual, with excellent organisational and communication skills. Clinically qualified and in possession of MRCP, you will have experience in the assessment of patients with complex neurological conditions and neurophysiology. As the position is for one day per week it is envisaged that the successful candidate will integrate this position alongside their clinical/academic training. The role offers the opportunity to develop skills and experience in clinical research within a well-established and supportive team.
