University of Wales, Trinity Saint David - Student Services

Flexible campus base, but should be able and prepared to work at home, and at other locations as necessary

The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) traces its heritage back to the first university in Wales, receiving its Royal Charter in 1828 and is honoured to have His Majesty King Charles III as Royal Patron.

UWTSD now teaches over 16,000 students across its six campuses in the UK; four in Wales and two in England. It has long-standing international educational partnerships in Europe, China, Malaysia, the USA and elsewhere.

We are now looking for an executive Careers Adviser to join our Student Services team, on a full time, fixed term basis (to July 2026), working 37 hours per week.

THE ROLE

The main purpose of the post is to provide effective leadership and management for the University’s Careers Service.

Duties include ensuring the provision of professional career education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) to students and graduates of the University. The postholder will manage the Careers Service team ensuring that they work in partnership with academic programme leads to provide graduate skills development opportunities and information.

ABOUT YOU

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Educated to degree level and/or relevant experience
  • Professional experience of creating information management systems and processes and of managing and interrogating data
  • Previous experience of briefing and/or training new users on new systems and approaches
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and regulations.
  • Evidence of stakeholder engagement to capture requirements and define targeted solutions
  • Demonstrable ability to lead a team

It would also be beneficial if you have: Appropriate accreditation

  • Knowledge of the University’s digital infrastructure and particularly the microsoft business suite of tools, the SITS student record system and reporting systems such as PowerBI
  • Experience of process review, creation and implementation
  • Experience and understanding of the work of the Student Services department, and its reporting requirements.
  • Current or previous experience of leading teams
  • Ability to communicate through medium of Welsh (desirable)

Annual leave entitlement is 35 days’ annual leave per year, pro-rata, plus 8 bank holidays and 4 University closure days
