This is a career development position and is fixed term for two years.
An LSE Fellowship is intended to be an entry route to an academic career and is deemed by the School to be a career development position. The Department of Anthropology invites applications for an LSE Fellow in Social Anthropology. The Department has a strong international reputation and a long and distinguished history of leadership in the discipline. This will provide the Fellow with an ideal environment for starting their academic career.
Your primary duties will be to lecture, to teach classes and seminars, and to act as Academic Mentor to undergraduate and/ or graduate students. Depending on circumstances, this may mean sole responsibility for a half-unit course, or teaching alongside another member of the department. In your first year in the post, you will teach AN101 A History of Anthropological Theory.
Candidates should have completed, or be close to completing, a PhD in anthropology by the post start date, with a developing research record in anthropology, and excellent communication and presentation skills. We are looking for candidates who can work in close partnership with fellow teachers, and who can foster an engaging and supportive learning environment.
