Cambridge University Libraries are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced, and user focused individual to a very proactive role.
As Senior Library Assistant, you will appreciate the fact that no two requests for information are the same; you will enjoy proactively contributing to events such as assisting in designing and delivering inductions and teaching sessions, taking on a hands-on approach. Do you love organising and updating reading lists? Good with social media such as keeping websites and Instagram up-to-date? You will be working in a role that is varied, keeping you on your toes.
You will work in some fabulous locations. Reporting to the Academic Support Librarian, you will work within the Department of Physiology, Development and Neuroscience (PDN) and the West Hub Library providing information services as well as contributing to the delivery of teaching and training sessions to support the staff and students within these departments.
If you are proactive, with good problem-solving and prioritising skills as well as an excellent communicator, we would love to hear from you.
The post is split over two different locations with two days at the Department of Physiology, Development and Neuroscience (PDN) Library on the Downing Side and one day at the West Hub Library.
The position is part-time and expected working days are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. However, we are open to discuss alternative days if flexibility is required.
We particularly welcome applications from women and candidates from a BME background for this vacancy as they are currently under-represented at this level in our institution.
