This is a fixed term appointment for 3 years, in the first instance.
The Centre for Economic Performance, the leading social science and policy research centre in the UK - based at the LSE, seeks a well-organised communications and events assistant. As part of a friendly team, you will provide engaging and efficient communications support to research and academic colleagues. You will organise seminars and events, working closely with the Head of Public Affairs and Communications, and a Communications and Events Officer. You will be the first point of contact for both internal enquiries and the general public.
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and must have an excellent working knowledge of social media platforms and an ability to promote research via social media. A good eye for website and document presentation would also be desirable. You should have previous experience of working in a team and be equally confident in dealing with enquiries in person and online. Able to communicate appropriately across the organisation and with senior colleagues, you will need to use your initiative in dealing with a wide range of tasks, and be able to juggle multiple deadlines. Accuracy and attention to detail, and an excellent standard of written and spoken English are all essential. An interest in our area of work would also be helpful.
