The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) at King’s College London is a world leading mental health and neuroscience academic enterprise. Our research and education has impact locally, nationally and globally, and work across the IoPPN continues to fundamentally change and shape the understanding of mental illness and neurological disorders, leading to novel therapies and approaches to health and wellbeing.
Comprised of three schools, and with over 1000 academic and research staff and more than 4000 under and post-graduate students, the IoPPN includes the largest centre for mental health research and education in Europe. We are now seeking a Deputy Dean of Education to work closely with the Dean of Education to lead and develop our education offering, develop a positive student experience, and ensure student welfare across the Faculty.
This role will provide the opportunity to work with education teams across the IOPPN as well as across King’s and our NHS partners to maintain and enhance education provision and quality, student satisfaction, and support for staff involved in education. The post holder will also be expected to deputise for the Dean of Education where necessary and will sit on Faculty and University committees to participate in a range of University initiatives and activities.
The appointee will be expected to contribute to the development and delivery of an ambitious education agenda and will lead on a number of strategic projects in support of this. The successful candidate will be an ambitious academic, with a commitment to excellence in education, and a passion for developing the next generation of academics. Whilst this position is education-focussed, the Faculty will also provide the opportunity to maintain and develop scholarship and research.
