As we look towards the future development of the services provided, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Team leader who will oversee the delivery of the college Careers and schools strategy. This will be achieved by the maximising of individual performance of team members whilst driving continuous improvements across the departments, motivating the team and utilising innovative ways of working and embracing new technology to ensure the services reach as many students and prospective students and stakeholders as possible.

What we are looking for:

You’ll be a highly motivated and committed individual, who will ensure our team of Professional careers advisers and Schools outreach officers provide an effective careers guidance service to students and applicants of the college as well as a programme of schools engagement and outreach work to inform and inspire the future students of Nottingham College.

You will provide line management to the team of 8 staff, managing rotas, holidays, sickness absence and staff development ensuring the services operate effectively across the campuses and schools across Nottinghamshire.

You will have clear effective communication skills and experience of managing people and services, with a proven track record of empowering others to deliver high standards. Working with the Head of Student Operations and Careers Leader and other partners such as Futures Advice you will ensure your teams deliver consistency and high standards at all times.

You will mentor and support team members to build and maintain positive professional relationships with stakeholders both within college and within schools, with careers leaders, heads of departments in schools and Heads of student experience and curriculum managers in college.

You will have strong project management skills and experience of delivering and managing complex large events involving various stakeholders and employers and delivering innovative initiatives to improve service delivery.

You will work closely with the Head of student operations to operationalise the college careers and schools strategy and deliver all outcomes and actions to provide a high quality service to all students, parents and potential students.

What you’ll need to have

o You will have a passion for providing exceptional career services and ideally some experience of leading and motivating an operational team and be willing to develop these skills further.

o You can demonstrate that you have developed yourself as well as other team members.

o You have achieved fantastic results in any projects you have been involved in.

o Able to look and think ahead proactively to evidence how you have continuously improved the impact of services you’ve been involved in.

o You own issues and don’t leave them for others to resolve.

o Experience of measuring the quality of services including a strong emphasis on impact and evaluation of delivery.

o Proven track record of excellent relationship management with stakeholders.

o Willingness to develop your own knowledge and skills to play a significant role in the leadership of an extraordinary careers and schools service for the college.
