About the role
The Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Bath is seeking to appoint a lecturer with a strong alignment to power systems engineering and artificial intelligence to provide excellent postgraduate research supervision and deliver high-quality teaching.
We are looking for outstanding researchers to enhance our research, join an expanding and ambitious department, and to shape the technology of the future in a vibrant and inclusive environment and to engage with plans to grow teaching in these areas with strategic partnerships.
Our electrical power systems research area is a key part of the Centre for Sustainable Energy Systems and has a reputation for strong scientific contributions to scalable and resilient energy network and market modelling and analyses. We have delivered tools and evidence for the UK Government, the energy regulator and wider industry for introducing new industrial standards, practices, and policies to accelerate the net zero transition. We are at the forefront of energy system data and digitalisation through our engagement with the government’s Energy System Digital Spine project. We deliver an annual Power Markets Training Course to national policy makers outside the UK, in conjunction with the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office, the World Bank, and the University of Cambridge.
The successful applicant will build a research portfolio with potential for national and international impact. They will help the department equip our students with the ability to make outstanding contributions in the world around them, by fostering advanced knowledge and practical skills, and they will support and develop courses that are intellectually bold and academically stimulating.
We are interested in applicants with core expertise in power engineering, and an interest in energy networks in general and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in energy systems.
About you
