Background of department/role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic registered midwife to join Canterbury Christ Church University to support us in the development and delivery of our new BSc in Midwifery. This is a secondment opportunity and will provide the successful candidate with a unique opportunity to strengthen the link between theory and practice on one of the UK’s newest midwifery programmes.
The School is seeking to appoint Senior Lecturer in Practice Learning (Midwifery) to support our midwifery students in practice, delivery theoretical content and work with CCCU’s simulation team to implement a simulation strategy for our new midwifery provision. Contemporary clinical experience is essential, as is experience in supporting students in practice, and the delivery of teaching, learning and assessment.
You will be expected to contribute to modules in the BSc Midwifery and you may also teach on postgraduate modules related to your own expertise. You will also provide support to students during periods of practice placements. An under-pinning principle of our work is the importance of the student experience, and we would expect you to share this value and work in ways that will enhance it.
The post holder is required to be current on the NMC register as a midwife and will be expected to have a minimum of a first degree in a relevant discipline.
