About the Role

We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Financial Accounting team. You will play a key role in managing financial accounting, working capital, and capital reporting for the University. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing the Financial Statements and liaising with external auditors
• Cash management, cash flow forecasting, and treasury operations
• Contributing to quarterly management accounts for senior University oversight groups.

This is a full time, fixed term post for 7 months to cover maternity leave.

Interviews are expected to take place on 29th April 2025.

To succeed in this role, you will:

• Be CCAB part-qualified or equivalent and be able to demonstrate significant experience working in a role within a complex organisation
• Have hands-on experience in financial statement preparation, external audit processes, and cash flow forecasting
• Be confident in month- and year-end processes and maintaining strong internal financial controls
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
• Have strong numeracy, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
