We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant/Lab Manager to work with Professor Bernhard Staresina in the Memory and Sleep Laboratory. The laboratory investigates the interactions between episodic memory formation and brain dynamics during sleep.
The post is full-time and fixed-term until 31 Dec 2026 in the first instance, with the possibility of an extension dependent on funding.
Currently located in the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Experimental Psychology will be moving to the new, purpose-built Life and Mind Building (Home | The Life and Mind Building (ox.ac.uk)) a multidisciplinary research and teaching facility due to open in the summer of 2025.
The post-holder will be expected to carry out administrative tasks pertaining to lab management as well as research related to the laboratory’s interests and collaborate with other researchers in collecting and analysing data.
The successful candidate will hold an undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification in psychology, neuroscience, physiology or a related discipline. They should have experience in cognitive neuroscience research, behavioral data collection and analysis and using MATLAB. They will be self-motivated and able to work independently but will also need to work collaboratively with those involved in the research. The ability to manage their own research and administrative duties is also required. Knowledge of cognitive neuroscience of memory and/or sleep and experience of conducting sleep/polysomnography studies would be desirable.
