The Department of Business Development and Technology (BTECH) at Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University, invites applications for Assistant Professorship Positions in Energy Systems.
An Assistant Professorship is a three-year, full-time position. The starting date is 1 September 2025 or as agreed.
Assistant professors divide their time equally between research and teaching activities. The successful candidates will join the EngTech research section and the Centre for Energy Technologies (CET).
Job description
At BTECH, we have a strong focus on company collaboration, which is reflected in our research and study programmes. We expect you to push the research frontier through applied research in the field of energy systems. If you also have the competences to enhance our students’ educational development and contribute to knowledge building in companies and society, you may be the candidate we are looking for.
We expect you to have a background in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with research interests in one or more of the following areas:
Candidates are expected to teach and supervise students in our study programmes, particularly the MSc in Engineering (Technology Based Business Development) programme, which includes a specialisation track in energy. Teaching in our other study programmes, such as the two Bachelor of Engineering programmes in Forretningsudvikling (Business Development) (cyber-physical systems/product and system development) and Global Management and Manufacturing (production and manufacturing systems), may also become relevant. Candidates should therefore be prepared to teach courses in one or more of the following topics: energy supply and production, energy demand and consumption, and security and resilience of the power system.
Your qualifications
Employment as an assistant professor requires a PhD degree in a field relevant to the position.
Applicants are encouraged to describe how their research is relevant to the industry. The description could include concrete collaborations, impact, dissemination activities, etc.

The appointment is made in accordance with the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff at Danish Universities as well as the circular on the Collective Agreement for Academics Employed by the State (in Danish).
