We are recruiting a visiting tutor to join our group organisation, Roehampton Education Services Ltd, delivering on our Foundation Programmes (Foundation Programme Extended Degree; International Foundation Programme; Foundation Studies Certificate of Higher Education; International Foundation Programme: Certificate of Higher Education) on behalf of the University of Roehampton. This is an exciting time to join Roehampton Education Services Ltd, as we develop and grow our preparatory, international and technical and vocational education and training.

The successful candidate will join our team in the School of Continuing Education as a Visiting Tutor, with experience of teachingina relevant discipline (Sustainable Engineering, ConstructionManagement, Architectural Technology, Building Surveying or similar) within a Further or Higher Education context. The appointment will involve teaching, managing and delivering modules (e.g. Introduction to the Built Environment; Applied Knowledge and Skills in the built Environment) and may also involve contributing to student teaching and pastoral support. We encourage a diverse and flexible approach to teaching, learning and assessment, and encourage applicants who have previous experience working with Level 4 students at Foundation level.

Tutors will be engaging with a range of students, often outside of standard working-day timetables. Through leading individual and group learning sessions, you will encourage self-directed study and independent learning, relevant to their field of study. All RESL tutors actively promote successful student outcomes through active engagement with in-person, hybrid and asynchronous learning. We also support students by providing structured independent activities and material that extend beyond scheduled contact time. All course materials are available via our e-learning platform.

Successful applicants will have experience in education and/or training using many of the teaching and learning approaches listed above, as well as with supporting students, and marking assessments. Industry experience is also desirable, as is experience with virtual learning environments. We are seeking individuals who are: student-centred; demonstrate excellent interpersonal and analytical skills; able to work with a wide range of students and can work flexibly.

We are looking to appoint immediately from May 2024 and will interview as we receive applications. Thus, please do not wait to apply if interested in the role. The rate of pay for Visiting Tutors’ teaching is up to £56.26 per hour. This rate includes: contact time, preparation, marking, and annual leave. Additional responsibilities (agreed in advance by the Director or Head of School) are paid at the rate of up to £27.43 per hour.
