About the Role
For informal queries, please reach out to Liz Wood (Project Archivist - Mining the Past) at elizabeth.wood@warwick.ac.uk.
We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join us as Outreach and Education Co-ordinator (Mining the Past). This exciting opportunity will involve working with the archives of the National Union of Mineworkers, opening up this historically significant collection to a wider audience.
You will work with the Project Archivist, other university colleagues and external partners to raise the profile of the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) archive and develop outreach and educational resources to enhance both onsite and remote access to resources based on the NUM collection.
Key elements of the role will include the development and delivery of exhibitions, educational resources and public talks; research and creation of website content; contribution towards the project digitisation programme; and development of a regional and national network of coal mining archive collections.
This role will require an Enchanced DBS.
About You
You are a passionate and inspiring communicator, with an interest in heritage and an enthusiasm for using archival sources to inform learning and research and to inspire passion in others.
You will be adept at building relationships with others and will be able work both collaboratively and independently, depending on the situation.
Experience of outreach work on successful heritage projects would be an advantage, as would experience of working with archives in an educational setting.
This is an exciting role for a creative and digitally confident individual, committed to excellence and able to develop innovative approaches to service delivery.
