We are a democratic, membership-led charity that exists to listen, act and improve students’ lives. You will support this mission by taking a lead in the support and development of societies at the Students’ Union. You would also line manage the Student Engagement Administrator and support the wider teams work as and when required.
We support over 28,000 students who make up the diverse and vibrant student body at Queen Mary University of London. This role sits within the Student Engagement Team which supports over 300 societies making it the largest area of student-led activity within Students’ Union. In addition to societies, the team is responsible for Raise and Give (RAG), Community Volunteering, Student Media, Employability and Sustainability.
We are looking for someone who has a passion and enthusiasm for improving the student experience and a commitment to working with students. The successful candidate will have the ability to use their own initiative and have experience of working with students. As this role is student-facing, it’s essential that you have a positive attitude and are passionate about working with students. The Societies Development Coordinator will lead on all aspects of running societies whilst ensuring they are safe and effective. This includes administrative support, supporting with organising events, monitoring budgets and expenditure, training and development, reward and recognition, grant funding allocation, and governance. As well as supporting the department with process review and improvements.
Applicants should have a good understanding of the needs of students, have excellent organisational skills and the ability to work with a wide range of people.
This is a full-time (35 hours per week), permanent position. The starting salary will be £32,804 per annum, inclusive of the London Allowance, with annual raises by one point as set out in the QMUL Pay and Grading Structure.
