Applications are invited for a Schools Liaison Officer post at Trinity College Cambridge. The post is fixed term for three years and is available from June 2025.
Working as part of a team of two Officers, they are responsible for developing and maintaining the College’s programme of engagement with schools and colleges across the UK and communicating this programme both to the wider public and to members of the college. The post-holder will report to the Head of Academic and Educational Services and will liaise closely with both the Director of Admissions and Outreach Coordinator in order to develop, implement and oversee an engaging outreach programme to attract the widest possible field of student applications, particularly from under-represented groups, and to provide opportunities for engagement both virtually and in-person. This will involve working with and arranging events for school students of various ages, school teachers and the parents of school-age children, and will include some travel to schools and colleges and will require staying overnight in College during a number of residential events. It may also involve assisting with some administrative and clerical tasks within the Admissions Office, and other widening participation activities as required.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised individual who is educated to degree level, or equivalent. A measure of flexibility is encouraged, as our events sometimes occur in evenings and over weekends and involve a number of overnight stays. It is essential that the successful candidate has excellent interpersonal and presentational skills as they must be able to build good working relationships and communicate with tact and discretion with a wide variety of groups and individuals, and often to audiences. The successful candidate must have up-to-date IT skills as well as accurate verbal and numerical abilities. Knowledge of University admissions would be desirable.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
