The School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences offers several undergraduate and postgraduate Bioscience related degrees including BSc (Hons) Biology, BSc (Hons) Biomedical Sciences and BSc (Hons) Pharmacology, and an expanding suite of postgraduate provision. About the role:
We are seeking to appoint Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Biology to provide parental leave cover for a fixed period of 12 Months. You will contribute to, and lead in the areas of course delivery, management and development of the Biology and related bioscience programmes in the School. The successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary team and make a contribution to teaching and scholarly activities.
About you:
The successful applicant will be an excellent communicator with considerable experience of teaching in higher education and a successful track record of academic leadership in Biology. They will have a breadth of knowledge across several areas of biology (not related to biomedical science) and, it would be desirable to have experience at leading residential field trips and organising practical exercises in Environmental and Field Biology and be experienced in delivering different teaching and assessment methods within Biology. The successful candidate will posses an Undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Biology or Biosciences and a relevant postgraduate qualification. For those applying as Senior Lecturer they will have a PhD in a relevant subject and be a Fellow (or Senior Fellow) of the Higher Education Academy. A motivated and enthusiastic individual, the successful candidate will be an active networker, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences.
