This role involves running the day-to-day activities of the Careers and Skills for Data-driven Research (CaSDaR) Network+, handling managerial tasks and coordinating logistical and administrative tasks.

CaSDaR is a UKRI funded Network+, formed to address the growing importance of data stewardship in producing high quality re-usable research data.

  • Create clear and accessible career paths, entry routes and progressions for Data Stewards.
  • Foster recognition of Data Stewards' contributions to the research lifecycle.
  • Promote the value and impact of data stewardship across all research disciplines.
  • Develop sustainable models to enable data stewardship as a vocation.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Web Presence Management: Creating website content, managing social media accounts.
  • Event organisation (physical/hybrid/virtual): Event organisation, materials creation, speaker, attendee and venue liaison, event dissemination, event chairing.
  • CaSDaR Membership/Dissemination Management: Maintaining mailing lists, creating newsletters, managing email communication and social media.
  • CaSDaR Resource Management: Video editing, research data management and repository submission.

You should have experience of data stewardship and research data management across at least one research domain. You will be highly organised, with excellent communication skills, and ideally experienced in event organisation.

You will make a valuable contribution to CaSDaR’s goals, from conducting active data stewardship research to building and engaging with the community, and have the potential to grow your own areas of expertise. There will be opportunities to develop skills to advance your career and build on skills outside of network management and data stewardship, such as project management and training.

The project team is based across the Schools of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Humanities, the Library and the Research Software Group. The post itself will be based in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering on Highfield Campus (although the Network itself is discipline agnostic).
