MRC CoRE REACT Chancellor’s Fellowship - University of Edinburgh Careers
The Opportunity:
The College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine is appointing a Chancellor’s Fellow aligned to the recently established MRC/BHF Centre of Research Excellence in Advanced Cardiac Therapies (REACT). The Centre aims to develop the first RNA and/or gene-based therapies to stimulate heart repair and regeneration in patients with damaged hearts and heart failure. REACT is a joint initiative of King’s College London (Prof Mauro Giacca), University of Oxford (Prof Paul Riley) and University of Edinburgh (Prof Andrew Baker). This position will be based in the Institute of Neuroscience and Cardiovascular Research at the University of Edinburgh.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record of innovative research and/or translation relating to the work of REACT Centre, knowledge exchange and the potential to make an outstanding contribution to furthering the College’s strategic goals by developing an innovative and novel independent research programme.
This Chancellor's Fellowship scheme builds on the University’s strong record of supporting and investing in early career researchers. Successful applicants will join the College’s Edinburgh Scientific Academic Track (ESAT) scheme. The Scheme aims to support outstanding scientists at the early stages of their independent academic careers with targeted support and development opportunities designed to enable them to develop the skills and experience required to achieve the next step in their career.
