About us
The Lungs for Living Research Centre comprises pre- and post-doctoral scientists and clinicians with expertise in early lung cancer biology and has an international reputation for producing first-class clinical, basic and translational research in respiratory medicine. The ALPINE study is a pioneering observational cohort study investigating novel biomarkers in participants undergoing Lung Health Checks (lung cancer screening service at University College London Hospitals, in collaboration with the North Central London Cancer Alliance).
About the role
The Clinical Trial Practitioner will support the delivery of the ALPINE study by working closely with clinicians, researchers, and administrative teams. They will be responsible for participant identification, recruitment, informed consent, data entry, and sample coordination, ensuring adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory frameworks.
About you
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: • Identify and recruit participants for the ALPINE study, ensuring eligibility criteria are met. • Conduct informed consent discussions and obtain written consent from participants in line with ethical guidelines. • Coordinate and oversee the collection, processing, and storage of biological samples, including blood, buccal swabs, and breath condensate. • Ensure accurate and timely data entry onto study databases while maintaining compliance with data protection regulations. • Act as a liaison between participants, clinical teams, and research staff to facilitate smooth study execution. • Work closely with radiologists, pathologists, and oncologists to track participant outcomes and follow-up assessments. • Ensure adherence to GCP, HTA, and ethical protocols, maintaining compliance with research governance frameworks.
