Background
City Interaction Lab is a specialist HCI research facility operating within City St George’s, University of London. This 75m2 facility was purpose-built for user testing, accessibility testing and design workshops, and is fully adaptable to accommodate novel and emerging technologies. The Lab team provides practical research support to academics within the Centre for Human-Computer Interaction Design (HCID) and runs consultancy projects for external commercial clients. We are seeking a UX Consultant and Supervisor to aid in these activities.
Responsibilities
As a UX Consultant and Supervisor, your role will be varied and multi-faceted. You will be involved in promoting City Interaction Lab online and in person, including the running of networking events such as the annual HCID Conference. You will respond to enquiries from internal and external clients, support HCID research activities, plan and conduct consultancy projects (research, design, evaluation), coordinate Student Consultants to work alongside you, maintain the lab facilities and support others in their use.
Person Specification
The successful applicant will be an experienced, proactive, and entrepreneurial user experience practitioner with a desire to work within an academic context. They will be confident working with academic and commercial clients, networking and running user experience projects across varied platforms and industries. They will be comfortable maintaining and troubleshooting technology. They will be an effective communicator. Ideal applicants would demonstrate an inquisitive spirit with a passion for understanding and exploring new technologies.
