About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to work as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate between Huma Therapeutics and Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) in the field of Digital Health. Huma Therapeutics is a leading digital health company, specializing in remote patient monitoring, patient-generated health data collection, and hospital-at-home solutions for national healthcare systems.
The project will develop an innovative AI-powered tool for remote asthma coaching using multimodal patient data. By integrating wearable data, symptom logs, inhaler usage, and environmental triggers, and applying cutting-edge AI methods, the tool will provide detailed insights into patient state and asthma management. Data will be collected and analysed within QMUL, Huma, and Bart’s NHS hospitals. A proof-of-concept study will evaluate the tool’s effectiveness in a clinical setting for patients with asthma conditions.
About You
We are seeking a KTP Associate with expertise in human-centered research. You should have a background in engineering or biomedical sciences, with experience in interdisciplinary research. Knowledge of respiratory diseases or clinical applications is a plus. Alternatively, clinicians with relevant scientific skills are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will develop skills in AI, digital health technologies, user testing, and clinical applications. You will be supported by experts across these fields, with significant opportunities for training and professional development. This role offers an excellent chance to embed knowledge in both academic and industry settings.
About the School/Department/Institute/Project
The KTP Associate will be primarily based at Huma Therapeutics' London headquarters (21-24 Millbank, London, SW1P 4QP) as part of the R&D team. You will also work at QMUL’s Human Performance Lab (Mile End, London) for data collection and collaborate with the Digital Environment Research Institute at QMUL.
The role is based at Queen Mary’s Mile End and Whitechapel campuses in London.
