This post will commence on 1 September 2025

LSE100, LSE’s flagship interdisciplinary course taken by all first-year undergraduates, is recruiting a creative educator with a commitment to innovative interdisciplinary teaching to join our team. LSE100 is an internationally recognised, sector-leading course which introduces LSE students to the School’s mission, building their capacity to tackle complex problems through research-rich education and the exploration of transformative global challenges.

The successful candidate will teach a minimum of eight fortnightly seminar groups (approximately six classroom contact hours per week) and will contribute to the design and development of course materials, as well as developing their own research agenda. They will be part of an enthusiastic community of interdisciplinary educators and will have opportunities to collaborate with colleagues on educational initiatives both within LSE100 and across the School. The successful candidate will also carry out administrative duties while fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment for LSE100 students.

LSE100 offers three themes for students to choose from as their focus of study on the course. In 2025/26, these will be: How can we control AI?, How can we transform our climate futures?, and How can we create a fair society? The ability to demonstrate research-informed interest and expertise in teaching across multiple themes is an asset for this post.

Candidates should have completed or be close to completing a PhD in a social science or related discipline. Relevant teaching and assessment experience particularly in an interdisciplinary context, the ability to work closely with and learn from colleagues, and excellent communication and organisational skills, are also essential. The other criteria that will be used in shortlisting for this post can be found in the person specification which is attached to this vacancy on LSE’s recruitment system.

Please note that one of the referees should be someone who has overseen or managed the candidate’s teaching.

We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave, and excellent training and development opportunities.
