We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced CNC Machinist/Engineering trainer to be part of the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre Training Centre Team.

You will join the delivery team and will be responsible for the workshop-based skills training and assessment of the Engineering Levels 3 through to 6 of the Apprenticeship programme.

This role will be based within the AMRC Training Centre, in the engineering skills workshop.

You will:

  • Be Qualified to Level 3 in engineering (BTEC/NVQ/C&G/HNC) and/or relevant experience.
  • Have significant experience of technical work in a CNC Machining engineering setting.
  • Hold a teaching qualification or willingness to undertake such a qualification on starting.
  • Have effective verbal and written communication skills, both written and verbal, report writing skills, experience of delivering presentations, communicating to staff and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Have the ability to assess and organise resources and plan and progress work activities.

As an Engineering trainer you will be required to carry out the training and assessment of engineering apprentices within the AMRC Training Centre. Engineering trainers are expected to support enrichment activities and any Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths events to promote the AMRC Training Centre. Some of these will be out of normal working hours.
