About the Role
Applications are invited for a Wellcome Trust funded Research Assistant position within the William Harvey Research Institute (WHRI), Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FMD), Queen Mary University of London. The available position is within the Centre for Microvascular Research, an internationally respected group of 40 researchers with established expertise in the fields of inflammation and vascular biology. The appointed person will be working within the group of Professor Sussan Nourshargh that focusses on deciphering the molecular basis of leukocyte-blood vessel wall interactions. The principal responsibilities of the post are the management of the group’s animal colonies and contributing to defined research projects
About You
Applicants must be enthusiastic researchers with significant laboratory experience. Proficiency in in vivo procedures, animal husbandry, and possession of a Home Office Personal License will be essential. Knowledge of transgene mouse technologies and microscopy skills and/or other basic laboratory methods will be advantageous.

The post can be either part-time 21 hours per week or full time 35 hours per week, fixed term appointment for up to 12 months maternity cover, with an expected start date by the 2nd of June 2025. The starting salary will be in the range of £32,804 - £39,463 per annum (pro-rata if part time), inclusive of London Allowance.
