We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a Project Manager within the Reproductive Medicine Research Group, to be part of a large multi-disciplinary project, funded by the Gates Foundation, to explore and develop CatSper as a target for nonhormonal contraceptive development. This is a fixed-term appointment until 31/12/2027.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team operating at the cutting edge of technologies and human systems to developing a new nonhormonal contraceptive. You will be regularly interacting with team members at the School of Medicine (Prof Barratt, Dr Johnston, and Dr Martins da Silva), School of Life Sciences; particularly the National Phenotypic Screening Centre (Prof Swedlow) and Drug Discovery Unit (Professors Gilbert and Read), and external collaborators, and presenting ideas/data/written reports at bi-monthly team meetings.

You will be based mainly at Ninewells Hospital and Medical School, one of Europe's largest teaching hospitals where the School of Medicine provides outstanding opportunities in medical education and training supported by world class research facilities.

Your priorities will include:

  • Acting as first point of contact for the programme, liaising with both internal and external stakeholders, building positive working relationships and ensuring effective communication.
  • Working with the Pis, research, and administrative teams for each of the academic partners, as well as Research and Innovation/Legal departments where required, to ensure smooth running of the projects and consistency in agreements.
  • Taking responsibility, together with administration teams for the management and co-ordination of meetings across the collaborative partners, Pis, research teams, and representatives of The Gates Foundation.
  • Working closely with Research Finance and the Pis to ensure the financial management of the award
  • Working together with the Pis and research teams to coordinate the production of reports required by the funder's award schedule.

Who we're looking for:

  • Holding an undergraduate degree in a biology or chemistry related discipline
  • Having a minimum of 3 years project management experience
  • Ability to problem-solve, trouble-shoot and work independently to deadlines.
  • Have a track record of involvement in successful collaborative research projects and the proven ability to work as part of a team with demonstrable project management skills and an ability to multi-task
  • Fluency in written and spoken English language.
