About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven individual to work with Professor Katherine Sleeman and her research team to set up and deliver a new Impact Centre for palliative and end of life care at the Cicely Saunders Institute.
Candidates should be highly motivated individuals with excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and with interest or experience of supporting health and care research and community and partner engagement. We are keen to hear from candidates with diverse backgrounds and experience.
The post-holder will primarily provide administrative support to the Impact Centre for palliative and end of life care. The Impact Centre aims to transform care for people approaching the end of life by closing the gap between evidence and practice. The role includes liaison and communication with partners locally, regionally and nationally, monitoring project tasks and milestones, meeting coordination and administration, processing purchase orders and expenses, finance and budgeting support, formatting and proofing reports and papers for publication, preparing agendas and minutes, and arranging events and meetings. You will undertake administrative duties for Professor Sleeman, including diary management, booking travel/accommodation, and processing expenses as well as supporting the planning, set up and delivery of Professor Sleeman’s wider and related projects. They will support the dissemination of outputs by preparing written reports, publications and presentations for a variety of audiences. The post-holder will support general departmental activities. They will work with project leads, senior administrators and project staff , including project managers, academics and research staff /students.
You will have the opportunity to learn about research processes and research administration and develop their knowledge and skills in palliative care and rehabilitation research. It provides an opportunity for them to hone research administration skills and develop expertise.
This is a full time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 31/12/2029.
