Doric/North-East Scots is central to North-East culture and identity. Building on our existing public-facing work, the appointment of a dedicated Scots/Doric Language Development Worker further demonstrates the Institute’s commitment to the language and deepens the University’s commitment to the region. Working within the framework of our Scots/Doric Language Plan the post holder will both sustain our existing public-facing programme of activities and projects and develop the new exciting ideas and initiatives needed to sustain this vital aspect of local identity.

They will have a track record in engaging with Scots/Doric and a sound knowledge of the wider issues that surround the language. They will also be confident in communicating with stakeholders in both Scots/Doric and English.
