This role is an exciting opportunity for a Research Facilitator to join an international partnership that is addressing a disease of poverty—schistosomiasis. You will join an enthusiastic research team working with epidemiologists, parasitologists, mathematicians, machine learning scientists, laboratory technicians, field assistants, health practitioners/policymakers, and global health ethicists. In Oxford, we are a team of approximately 10 people including postdoctoral researchers and students. In Uganda, we have a team of around 100 people including the Ugandan PIs, research manager, surveyors, nurses, technicians, clinicians, malacologists, sonographers, ethicists, and community health workers.

We are seeking an experienced and well-organised individual with a strong interest in scientific research and quality control, and prior experience of research administration. The post is based in Oxford. The postholder will help coordinate a human participant cohort in Uganda where individuals are followed yearly to look at a range of infectious diseases and their risk factors. The cohort is led by the Uganda Ministry of Health and University of Oxford. The candidate will be an active scientific member of the team in Oxford, undertaking also research roles to support the various projects ongoing within the group. This post is an excellent opportunity to gain research and study design skills, while understanding what it takes to manage a large research project. The candidate will report directly to the study PI, Associate Professor Goylette Chami.
