About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Research Associate to become a core part of a team working in the field of AI-Power: Artificial Intelligence for Next Generation Power Electronics. The University of Bath is an international partner in collaboration with Aalborg University, Danfoss, Neurospace, Xtel, & UCRC. The AI-Power project aims to bridge the gap to industry applications by developing tailored physics-informed AI tools for energy efficiency boost and life-cycle-cost reduction of power electronics and its applied systems. A lower grade offer may be made (Grade 6) with comparable reduction in responsibilities and amendment in job title to Research Assistant if a suitable applicant cannot be found to fill the Grade 7 position. Applicants will need to be within 6 months of their course completion date and will be promoted to Research Associate once their PhD has been awarded. 

About you

Our ideal candidate will have proven-research experience in at least one of the following areas:

  1. Condition and health monitoring of motors & power electronic converters
  2. Internet-of-things (IoT) & data analytics
  3. Fault diagnosis of mechanical or electrical systems
  4. The application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for engineering application

This position is offered on a full-time fixed-term basis for 1 year.

As a member of Research Staff at the University of Bath, you will be encouraged to take up a minimum of 10 days professional development pro rata per year.
