Madingley Hall is part of the Institute of Continuing Education in the University of Cambridge, built in the 16th century. This elegant country house has 16 well-equipped meeting rooms, 62 ensuite bedrooms, a professional kitchen, licensed bar, coffee shop, Lodge House available as rentable short-stay accommodation and is set in 8-acres of grounds including superb Capability Brown designed gardens.
The Role
We are seeking to appoint a positive and friendly Kitchen Porter to join a busy, award-winning team who will deliver excellent levels of customer care and attention across all areas of the department.
The Kitchen Porter Team provide a professional service to ensure that all areas and equipment within the kitchen are cleaned to maintain levels of cleanliness, hygiene and safety using machinery, manual systems and cleaning detergents.
The successful applicant will have good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently while in a pressurised environment.
Madingley Hall is a beautiful venue set in expansive grounds, and just a few miles from Cambridge City Centre. At any one time there will be up to 180 short-term customers/students on the site, up to 84 short-term residents (one to five nights) and likely to be functions and events taking place (anything from concerts for 100, garden parties for 500, to wedding receptions and lectures).
