The purpose of the role
The School of Psychology, Trinity College Dublin is seeking to appoint a full-time Assistant Professor to contribute to the School of Psychology’s core programme of research and teaching, and to act as the Director of the MSc Global Mental Health programme, based in the Trinity Centre for Global Health (TCGH).
The School of Psychology has a strong reputation nationally and internationally in research and teaching: It is the number one ranked psychology School in Ireland and is in the top 100 Schools globally. The School offers an accredited four-year BA degree in psychology to single honours students, and a range of accredited postgraduate taught programmes (MSc and Professional Doctorate level) as well as research MSc and PhD degrees.
Established in 2004, the TCGH is an interdisciplinary centre co-located across the Schools of Medicine and Psychology with a vision to generate impactful knowledge through high quality, multidisciplinary research and teaching, while contributing to a world in which the health and wellbeing of all at all ages is realised. With an annual intake of between 19-23 students, the MSc Global Mental Health is a one-year, full-time MSc programme granting students the knowledge and skills to pursue global mental health careers that bridge governmental, non-governmental, humanitarian work, and academia. The postholder will guide the development and growth of the MSc Global Mental Health in partnership with other taught postgraduate programmes in the TCGH (i.e., the MSc Global Health). The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to other teaching and supervision activities within the School of Psychology.
