We are seeking to appoint a Research Associate/Fellow to work with Dr Fiona Ng on their Anne McLaren Fellowship entitled ‘Promoting Post-traumatic Growth in Psychosis through Treatment Innovation and System Transformation’.

People with experiences of psychosis report higher rates of trauma. However, some people also report positive changes because of these experiences. This is called post-traumatic growth. The EPOCH study will use mixed-methods and a clinical trials design to understand how post-traumatic growth occurs in psychosis and develop a digital intervention to support this process.

Candidates should have a PhD (or be close to completion) in a relevant social science or health-related discipline. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of mental health research, digital mental health, and have experience with qualitative research methods.

The successful candidate will join the world-leading Recovery Research Team, led by Professor Mike Slade, within the School of Health Sciences, University of Nottingham.

The position will be offered on a fixed-term contract available immediately until 28 February 2026. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week); however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 21.75 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number of preferred hours. Job share arrangements may also be considered.

Informal enquiries may be addressed to Dr Fiona Ng (fiona.ng@nottingham.ac.uk). Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
