About the role
The Department of Education is looking to appoint a Researcher reporting to Professor Victoria Murphy. The post holder is a joint member of the Applied Linguistics, Child Development and Learning and Critical Digital Education research groups with responsibility for the learning analytics component of the Learning for Families Through Technology (LiFT) Research Programme, a research programme aimed at investigating and enhancing the educational potential of Applaydu.
Alongside their learning analytics research activities, the post holder will also be responsible on a day-to-day basis for ensuring the project adheres to University ethics and data protection procedures and protocols. The post holder may also support the rest of the team in other research activities and provide day-to-day supervision to junior members of the research group including research assistants, PhD students, and/or project volunteers.
The successful candidate will hold a relevant PhD/DPhil together with relevant post-qualification research experience. They must have excellent quantitative skills to analyse the large-scale digital trace data generated by the app with application to learning and education. They need to manage their own academic research and associated activities, and have excellent communication skills, including the ability to write for publication and present results to various stakeholders.
This post is full time until 31st May 2027.
